What is a Q? What is the morphological essence of a letter? Such questions led to an experiment that taunted the limits of legibility in order to better understand the character-recognition processes of the human mind. The Trajic notRoman typeface consists of invented glyphs designed to leave an impression of the conventional Latin capitals; the decipherability of its various forms was put to the test in a real-world experiment at TypeCon98. ¶However, Trajic notRoman is more than an experiment: it can be intermixed with Adobe Trajan, with singular results. |
